How We Met: Stories of Finding Brand Love, Part 3: Elevator Love
We at Dovetail keep beating the “it’s all about relationships” drum because it’s a key reason that we’re able to succeed for our clients.
But there are times that a brand relationship begins or blossoms in an unusual way, and those always stand out.
We’re all about getting caught in brand romance . . . so welcome to How We Met, our stories of finding brand love.
Sometimes, women have to be a bit leery of stepping into an elevator. But at a busy trade show in the middle of the day, it seemed pretty safe. So when a nice gentleman asked how we were, we responded, “Peachy!” After a pause, he said “You can’t use peachy. I’m from Georgia. So I get to be peachy.” There ensued a discussion about what fruit best suited my good mood. For the balance of that show, whenever we passed the nice man at his booth, he would yell “hey Peachy!”
From there, the relationship advanced to discussions about which of the various produce shows might be most advantageous for our Dovetail goals, and where we might meet the right partners. Later that year, Dovetail joined one of “Peachy’s” suggested produce associations and discovered “Organic Girl.”
We haven’t seen Peachy in a while, but we’re confident we’ll pick up right where we left off, and we’ll make sure to thank him for the great advice. It was all thanks to a spur-of-the-moment burst of happy energy. We appreciate all of our relationships and the matches they help us find — even in an elevator.
